Celia Villagomez

Celia Villagomez, age 50, of Kankakee, passed away peacefully on Saturday (October 21, 2023) at her lifelong home with her loving family by her side. She was born on March 3, 1973 in Casacuaran, Guanajuato, Mexico., and was the daughter of Angel Lopez and Oliva Tapia. Celia married Sigifrido Villagomez on January 12th, 1998 at Parroquia San Pablo Apóstol in Casacuaran, Guanajuato, Mexico. They celebrated 25 years of marriage this year. Celia was a Machine Operator at JR Edwards Brush & Roller Inc. She was a hard worker and continuously strived to better herself and her family. Celia enjoyed listening to music, singing, and dancing. So much so, that the leg brace she wore for the past year was decorated with music notes. Celia enjoyed sewing, knitting, and drawing. She was skilled in anything involving her hands. Celia enjoyed taking afternoon walks with her family, as well as shopping with her daughter. Celia was an avid traveler and her passion project was working on the construction of her house in Mexico. Surviving are her husband, Sigifrido Villagomez of Kankakee; her son, Jonathan Villagomez of Kankakee; her daughter, Melany Villagomez and Son-in-Law, Joel Orozco-Gaytan of Kankakee; her parents, Angel Lopez and Olivia Tapia of Mexico; her brother, Alejandro (Judith Lopez) of Mexico; her sister, Carmela (Alonso Arellano) of Mexico; her sister, Erika (Salvador Ramirez) of Mexico, her sister, María de los Ángeles (Baltazar Ramírez) of Mexico; her sister Laura (Nelson Moreno) of Kankakee; her sister, Silvia (Ramiro Pizano) of Kankakee; her sister, Aurora (Jose Garcia) of Kankakee. Preceding her in death were her father-in-law, Arnulfo Villagomez, and mother-in-law, Emelia Gonzalez. Visitation will be on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Kankakee. The service will be on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. John Paul II Catholic Parish in Kankakee. Fr. Roy Jacob will be officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Grove Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Kankakee. In lieu of memorials, send flowers. Nació el 3 de marzo de 1973 en Casacuarán, Guanajuato, México, y era hija de Ángel López y Oliva Tapia. Celia se casó con Sigifrido Villagomez el 12 de enero de 1998 en la Parroquia San Pablo Apóstol en Casacuaran, Guanajuato, México. Este año celebraron 25 años de matrimonio. Celia era operadora de maquinaria en JR Edwards Brush & Roller Inc. Era una gran trabajadora y se esforzaba continuamente por mejorar a ella y su familia. A Celia le gustaba escuchar música, cantar y bailar. Tanto es así, que el aparato ortopédico que usó durante el año pasado estaba decorado con notas musicales. A Celia le gustaba coser, tejer y dibujar. Ella era hábil en cualquier cosa que involucrara sus manos. Celia disfrutaba de los paseos con su familia, y ir de compras con su hija. Celia era una ávida viajera y su proyecto apasionante era trabajar en la construcción de su casa en México. La sobrevive su marido, Sigifrido Villagomez de Kankakee; su hijo, Jonathan Villagomez de Kankakee; su hija Melany Villagomez y su yerno Joel Orozco-Gaytan de Kankakee; sus padres, Ángel López y Olivia Tapia de México; su hermano, Alejandro (Judith López) de México; su hermana, Carmela (Alonso Arellano) de México; su hermana, Erika (Salvador Ramírez) de México, su hermana, María de los Ángeles (Baltazar Ramírez) de México; su hermana Laura (Nelson Moreno) de Kankakee; su hermana, Silvia (Ramiro Pizano) de Kankakee; su hermana, Aurora (José García) de Kankakee. La precedieron en la muerte su suegro, Arnulfo Villagómez, y su suegra, Emelia González. El velorio será el viernes 27 de octubre de 2023 de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m. en la funeraria Clancy-Gernon en Kankakee. El servicio será el sábado 28 de octubre de 2023 a las 10:00 a.m. en la Parroquia Católica San Juan Pablo II en Kankakee. Padre Roy Jacob estará oficiando. Seguirá el entierro en el cementerio Mound Grove Gardens of Memory en Kankakee. En lugar de homenajes, envíe flores.
