Brittany Lauren Parsons

Brittany Lauren Parsons, 34 of Bradley, IL, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ at 6:21pm, Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the University of Chicago Hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family. Brittany was born April 6, 1990 in Kankakee, IL to Monte Parsons, Mascoutah, IL and Lisa (Jeff) Franklin, St Anne IL. They both survive. Brittany also leaves her loving step father Jeff Franklin, St Anne IL and two sons, Keegan Joshua Parsons and Lucas Nathaniel Parsons, both of Bradley, IL. Also surviving is Brittany’s grandmother, Marjorie Gavin, Spring Hill, FL; Uncles Michael Parsons, Eureka, IL and Brian Gavin, Naperville, IL; Aunts Wendy Jo (Michael) Melton, Dobson, NC and Kristen (Adam) Boesh, Jonesborough TN and Brittany’s boyfriend, Armando Molina, Kankakee. Brittany was preceded in death by her brother, Joshua Michael Parsons, and grand parents Wendell and Betty Parsons and Roy Gavin. Brittany graduated from Bradley Bourbonnais High in 2008. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science (Criminal Justice) degree from Olivet Nazarene University and her Masters degree (Psychology) from Capella University. The greatest joy in Brittany’s life had been raising her two boys, Keegan and Lucas. She loved seeing them in sports, church and school functions. It was especially comforting to witness Keegan’s confirmation and always exciting to follow his football games with the Bourbonnais Bears, Bradley Lions and Kankakee Bishop McNamara High School. Known for her kindness, generosity and compassion Brittany loved life and was constantly on the go with her many hobbies and interests. She was a huge St.Louis Cardinals fan and always enjoyed going to Cardinal baseball games with family. Brittany began singing with Kids for Christ at College Church of the Nazarene at the age of 9. Brittany enjoyed many years of gymnastics, tumbling and dance at Golden’s Gymnastics in Kankakee and Starlight Dance Academy in Bourbonnais, cheerleading for the Bourbonnais Bears and playing softball with the Bradley-Bourbonnais Youth Softball League. Brittany became involved with Kankakee Valley Theater Association at the age of 11, beginning with Annie Jr. Other KVTA roles included Schoolhouse Rock, Music Man Jr, Yankee Doodle Jr and Big the Musical. Brittany realized her dreams of song & dance at the age of 12 when she was cast in the lead role as Kit Kittredge in American Girls Circle of Friends. She performed on stage in Chicago at The American Girl Store from 12 - 14 years old. Brittany also enjoyed baking and decorating and had her own website, “Balloons and Berries”. She was known for her hand-crafted cakes and desserts and decorated many schools, homes and banquet facilities for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, baby showers, confirmations, graduations and school functions. Other jobs Brittany had include Banquet Manager with Quality Inn Banquets, Human Resources Generalist with AAF Flanders, Talent Acquisition Specialist with KO Business Solutions, Human Resources Generalist with Electron Beam Technology and currently as the Human Resources Business Partner with IKO Midwest in Kankakee. Brittany’s favorite Bible verse was 1 Peter 1:8 - “Though you have not seen Him (Jesus), you love Him. Though you do not now see Him, you believe in Him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory." Brittany and her boys were members at St. John Paul ll Catholic Church in Kankakee. Brittany’s favorite song to sing when family members were together was, “Jesus Never Fails”. Brittany will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers an education memorial fund savings account for Keegan and Lucas Parsons has been established thru Midland Bank. Contributions can be made to Jeff and Lisa Franklin c/o Keegan and Lucas Parsons education fund. A private visitation will be held at Clancy Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais, IL followed by a private funeral. Dr. Walter “Woody” Webb will be officiating. Burial will be at Mound Grove Cemetery in Kankakee, IL.
