Delmer R. Posing

Delmer “Jake” Posing passed away Tuesday, August 6th at Riverside Medical Center after suffering a stroke. To fulfill his wishes, Del will be cremated. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Xline Sportsmans Club Sunday, August 18th from 2-5PM to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, bring with you a good story of an experience you shared with Del “Jake” Posing. Memorials can be made to the family’s wishes. Del was born on December 30, 1931, the son of Nick and Myrtle Posing. He lived his whole life in Kankakee. He was an Army veteran serving his country during the Korean War. Del was owner of Del’s Pest Control for over 40 years, and his sons will continue with the business and service in his name. Del’s best enjoyment was taking the pontoon and a group of his fishing buddies, and having a great time fishing. Another enjoyment was meeting up with a group of friends each morning at Bill’s Diner for breakfast and gossip, and also meeting for lunch every Wednesday at the Aroma Park American Legion. Del was a long time member of the Xline Sportsmans Club and the American Legion. Del is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marcia “Pat” Posing; one daughter Cindy (Huey) Boyt of Kankakee; son Steve (Maria) Posing of Puerto Escondido, Mexico; son Mark (Glenda) Posing of Bourbonnais; and son John Posing of Kankakee. Also 8 grandchildren; Chris (Ofmany) Alfonso of Momence; Sara Rose (Eric) Hunt of Phoenix, AZ; Amanda Boyt of Kankakee; Tim (Jamie) Posing of St. Anne; Jennifer Posing of Cartersville, GA; Violeta and Mateo Posing of Puerto Escondido, Mexico; and Benjamin LaDoux of Joliet. Also he is survived by soon to be 8 great grandchildren; Lily, Lola, Niko, and new baby Leo coming soon; Alfonso, Kaleb, and Noah Posing, and Chasen and Keagan of Cartersville, GA. He is survived by an older sister Doreen Giambiasi of Jupiter, FL; two very special nephews Roger and Paul Holmes; and many more nieces and nephews. Del is also survived by brother and sister-in-law Chuck and Barbara Simmons of Bourbonnais; sister-in-law Donna Loitz of Peotone; sister-in-law Kathleen Davis and sister and brother-in-law Willa and Patrick Murphy of Massena, NY. He was preceded in death by his parents Nick and Myrtle, brother Harold Posing, and sisters Opal Holmes and Goldie Schuler. Del was a Christian man, very devoted family man, and a great fisherman. He will be missed so much by everyone. in lieu of flowers memorials be made for family wishes.
