Gloria E. Clodi

Gloria E. Clodi, 83 of Manteno, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, August 2, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 3, 1943 in Kempton, Illinois, to Cletus and Irene (Schnoor) Colclasure. Gloria married the love of her life, Robert H. Clodi, on October 20, 1962 at St. Joseph's Church in Cabery. Together they built a beautiful life over 63 years of marriage, centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. A devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno, Gloria lived her life with kindness, generosity, and quiet strength. She dedicated herself to her family and found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved. For more than 40 years, Gloria was a beloved beautician in Manteno. She truly enjoyed her work and treasured the friendships she formed. Gloria is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Clodi of Manteno; her children, Lori Clark (Mark Villarreal) of Valparaiso, Indiana, Brian (Kelly) Clodi of St. Charles, Brad (Jennifer) Clodi of Manteno, and Theresa (Kalen) Schulteis of Manteno; her brother, Eugene (Marlene) Colclasure of Bloomington; and her twelve cherished grandchildren: Marissa Clark, Sydney Clark, Jacob Clodi, McKenzie Clodi, Jude Clodi, Zack Clodi, Cade Clodi, Taylor Clodi, Tyson Clodi, Selena Schulteis, Skyler Schulteis, and Sariah Schulteis. One of the greatest joys of Gloria's life was being grandma to her grandchildren who called her "Gram". She was preceded in death by her parents and her four brothers, Andrew, Stanley, Donald, and Raymond. She was famous among family and friends for baking the very best homemade pies and delicious rolls, preparing countless family meals, and making sure no one ever left her table hungry. Whether gathered for holidays, birthdays, or an ordinary Sunday dinner, everyone knew they could count on Gloria's cooking to bring the family together. She also enjoyed outings to the casino, faithfully cheered on the Chicago Cubs through every season, and rarely missed watching Fighting Illini basketball. These simple pleasures brought her happiness, but nothing compared to time spent surrounded by her family. A gifted seamstress throughout her life, Gloria shared her extraordinary talent with those she loved most. She lovingly sewed suits for her husband and sons and created beautiful wedding dresses for her daughters. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Manteno. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manteno. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Manteno. Memorials may be made for Masses or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
