Kathy Demarah

Kathy J. Demarah, 56, of Bourbonnais, died Saturday (March 21, 2009) at home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, Bourbonnais, where she was a member. The Rev. Richard Pighini will officiate.Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley, Special Olympics or Children's Cancer Research.Mrs. Demarah was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was born June 25, 1952, in Kankakee, the daughter of Robert and Ellen Larsen Goselin. She was a volunteer at Christmastime for children in need and also in the Aroma Park School District, where she had been a lunch lady. She enjoyed bowling. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and cooking Sunday family dinners.Surviving are her husband, Don Demarah, whom she married Aug. 1, 1970, at Maternity BVM Catholic Church; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Kelsey Demarah of Bourbonnais; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carrie Demarah and Bruce Howard, Ashley and Carl Baker, all of Bourbonnais; five grandsons, Logan Brady, Declan Demarah, Noah Baker, Aidan Demarah and Brock Howard; two stepgrandchildren, Bruce Howard and Machayla Fulford; one sister-in-law, Charlene Thompson of Bradley; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Bruce Rayman of Clifton, Laurie and Mike Pelletier of Bourbonnais; and favorite cousin, Paula Bleyle of Bourbonnais.Deceased are her parents; one brother, Robert M. Goselin; and her grandparents, Esther and Edgar Larsen.Kathy has touched so many lives. She will be missed not only by her family but by all that knew her. She was always there to lend a hand to anyone -- even a total stranger and eventually that stranger became her friend. She loved everyone no matter what. She forgave and forgot anyone that hurt her. She had such a generous spirit never asking for anything in return. So many lives will forever be changed without Kathy here with us. But she will forever be an angel watching over all of us.
