Leona Worby -- BourbonnaisLeona B. Worby, age 77, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (March 25, 2007) at her home, surrounded by her family, after a short illness. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bradley.Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kankakee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph Grade School or Bishop McNamara High School.Mrs. Worby sold Avon products for over 35 years, where she was a multiple-year President's Award recipient. She had worked at Bishop McNamara High School for many years. She was born Dec. 21, 1929, in Bourbonnais, to Horace and Lucie Breault Benoit. Her parents are deceased. She was married to James G. Worby on June 17, 1950. She now joins him in their eternal dance.Surviving are four sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Kathy Worby of Bradley, Martin and Carin Worby of Bourbonnais, James and Julie Worby of Manteno, Jason and Julie Worby of Bradley; seven daughters and six sons-in-law, Christine and Vincent Benoit of Kankakee, Colleen and William Regnier of Manteno, Marsha and James Saathoff of Bourbonnais, Michelle and Gregory Fager of Palatine, Marian Worby of Bourbonnais, Carolyn and Craig Koerner of Bourbonnais, Joyce and William Smith of Bourbonnais; grandchildren, Ryan Worby, Michelle Kropp, Adam, Luke, Brad, Kyle and Eric Benoit, Scott and Thomas Regnier, Lisa Turner, Julie, Allison and Emily Saathoff, William Fager, Sarah Allie, Jillian and Claire Worby, Alex, Benjamin and Jonathon Koerner, Matthew, Danielle, Andrew, Elizabeth and Mary Worby, Jessica, Jacob, Jayden, James and Justin Smith, Trevor and Madeline Worby; six great-grandchildren with two on the way; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Alice Scheppler of Kankakee, Estelle and Henry D'Orto of Athol, Mass; one brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Mary Benoit of Bradley; three sisters-in-law, Louise Bolen of Bradley, Anita Worby of Charleston and Glenna Benoit of Bradley; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, Donald Kyrouac.She is preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Patrick and Lawrence Benoit; three sisters, Isabelle Kanoski, Cecile Bertrand and Anna Mae McCue; and one grandchild, Bridget Benoit.She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she was a very active volunteer. She was Woman of the Year at St. Joseph Church in 2001 and Grand Marshal of Bishop McNamara High School Homecoming in 2005. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a number one fan for all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She rarely missed any event that any of them were involved in. She watched with pride all the accomplishments that her family made.
