Ola Chobar -- Kankakee Ola Mae Chobar, 86, of Kankakee, died Friday (Nov. 25, 2005) at ManorCare Health Services. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at Mound Grove Gardens. Rev. John Antczak will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley, where she was a member. Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Chobar retired from Armours after 28 years in the packaging department coding labels. She was born Dec. 7, 1918, in Martinton, the daughter of Phillip and DesNeiges Nourie Baron. Her husband, Lester Chobar, whom she married in November 1962, died July 30, 1988. She was a former member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed life and going to parties. Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Mae Kukuck of Lincoln; one sister and brother-in-law, Blanche "Berry" and Leonard Foockle of Bradley; one brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Joan Baron of Bourbonnais; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Mercer of Bourbonnais, Isabelle Baron of Kankakee; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lenora Yonke and Margie Pruett, both of Kankakee. Five brothers, Clayton, Roland, Merlin, Orland and Elmond, are deceased.
