Sherry L. Timm

On January 31, 2023, Sherry L. Timm was welcomed into heaven and reunited with her loved ones. Sherry was born April 23, 1945 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Dwight & Margaret Scott. Her early years were some of her fondest memories of family, friends, dances and the DBS sorority where she met many lifelong friends that were so dear to her. A southerner from birth, she lived by the values she learned in these formative years for the rest of her life. She met Ernest (Ernie) Timm at Arkansas State while she was still in High School and after dating several years, they were united in marriage September 12, 1964 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. After their honeymoon in New Orleans, Sherry moved with Ernie to Bourbonnais, Illinois where they began their family. Born to them were 3 children, Kristine (Mark) Simon of Morris, Kevin Timm of Morris and Jason Timm of Bourbonnais. Sherry was also blessed with 4 grandchildren, Dakota (Tyler) Farmer, Cheyenne Timm, Shawnee Timm, Grant Simon and 2 great grandchildren, Barrett & Bennett Farmer. Sherry was an exceptionally talented and respected bookkeeper and account manager. Her love of numbers and organizing led her to work for several real estate companies in the Kankakee area during her 39 year career. She had many talents and hobbies. She loved to paint, craft and cross stitch, leaving many precious pieces for her family to cherish. She loved music, dancing, genealogy, puzzles, auctions, antiques and trips to the beach with the sounds of the ocean surrounding her. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Adventure Christian Church. She loved her small group and bible studies, her luncheons with her real estate friends and her girls club that has faithfully met since 1964. Loved ones that passed before her were her husband of 50 years, Ernie, her parents, Dwight & Margaret Scott, her sister and brother in law, Dianne & Dudley Lamb, her niece, Stacie Lamb, daughter in law Sonya Timm, and her beloved childhood friend, Katherine Ann Napper. In honoring Sherry's wishes, there will be no wake or public visitation. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00pm at Bloom's Grove Cemetery in Manteno. A procession will leave Clancy Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais at 12:45 pm. Friends and family are welcome to participate in the procession and graveside service.
