William C. Geisler Jr.

William C. Geisler Jr., 70, of Bourbonnais, died Sunday (June 9, 2013) at his home. According to his wishes, his body will be donated to science. A memorial celebration of his life will be held on July 13, 2013 from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM at his daughters home in Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to the family wishes. Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais, is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 4, 1943, the son of William C. and Theresa Kruscler Geisler. Surviving are his wife, the former Wendy Norris, of Bourbonnais; six children, Theresa Christensen, of Wyoming, Deniece and Pat Wagner, of Oregon, Lesa and Roy Shull, of Colorado, Christine and Charlie Gabel and Bill and Cristina Geisler, all of Bourbonnais, and Steve and Amy Geisler, of Minooka; 13 grandchildren, Danielle, Samantha, Koreena, Olivia, Brock, Beaumont, Bryce, Dylan, Logan, Nora, Luke, Lana and Caleb; and several great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Ken Anderson, of Oak Forest; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Charles and Sue Geisler, of Joliet, and Walter Geisler, of Elburn; and his loving little boy, Buster. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Gloria Thorne; and one brother, Frederick Geisler. "Our father was a great man. He was best known as a proud man, stubborn man, strong man, knowledgeable man, funny man, gentle man, friend, grandpa, great-grandpa, husband and father. He was lots of things to many people. He was a friend to most, a therapist of sorts to others teaching others how to release their frustrations in only a way he could do best. "Our father was a wealth of knowledge that never ceased to amaze us. We don’t know how but he seemed to know everything. For a man that did not know how to work the computer, he was what YouTube is to others for many of us. If you needed to know how to do anything, you could ask him and he always had an answer. "Our father holds a special place in our hearts and lives, and we will miss him very dearly. We know he will always keep helping his loved ones because that was the kind of man he was. He always placed himself behind the needs and wants of others. This is one of his life lessons that we will continue to work on. He was always generous and would do without many things to allow his friends and family to do things they would otherwise not have. "He taught us, guided us, corrected us, disciplined us, he helped us, and most of all loved us. We sometimes lost sight of important lessons in life, and he was always there to guide us and set us straight. He was not a man to beat around the bush so to speak, if there was something to be done, he would work tirelessly until the task was completed; this is another life lesson that he taught us. "Our father had a sense of humor like no other. He was quick with his jokes and loved to bring laughs to his friends and family. Our father will live on through his friends and family, He has built a wealth of memories and life lessons to which we believe was his greatest gift. This is the man we called our friend, teacher, grandpa, husband and father." — The Family
