Yvonne Piggush -- BourbonnaisYvonne P. Piggush, 91, of Bourbonnais, died Thursday (July 19, 2007) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Kankakee, after a short illness, two weeks short of celebrating her 66th wedding anniversary with her husband. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Maternity BVM Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. Rev. Richard Pighini will officiate.Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Maternity BVM Catholic Church.Mrs. Piggush taught in the Herscher country schools and then the Bourbonnais Elementary School District for 14 years. She was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Bourbonnais, the daughter of Leon and Alma Breault Rivard. She attended St. Viator's College and graduated from the University of Illinois. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne, the Retired Teacher's Association, the Bradley-Bourbonnais Senior Citizens, and the Kankakee Senior Citizens. She enjoyed walking with her kind, loving husband, Henry. She also loved mingling and conversing with people and attending family functions. Yvonne was a wonderful role model, mother, and grandmother for her six children, 13 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.Surviving are her husband, Henry H. Piggush, whom she married Aug. 1, 1941, at Maternity BVM Catholic Church; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Nancy Piggush of East Lansing, Mich., Richard and Judy Piggush of Manteno, Dale and Lynn Piggush of Bourbonnais; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce and Rabel Burdge of Bellingham, Wash., Leonora and Larry Retzl of Palos Heights, Gloria LaGesse of Bourbonnais; 13 grandchildren, Yvette, Justin, Vicki, Sarah, Neil, Scott and Lauren Piggush, Lorie Brammer, Julie and Michelle LaGesse, Stephanie Webster, Jill Burdge, and Amy Horn; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Ellie Webster, and Tallinn Horn; four sisters, Lucille Seifert and Monica Entwistle, both of Kankakee, Marguerite Hildebrand of Bourbonnais, Rita Lambert of Bradley; and two sisters-in-law, Edna Rivard of Kankakee, and Mary Rivard of Bourbonnais.Deceased are her parents; three brothers, Lionel Rivard, Raymond Rivard, and Andrew Rivard; and two sisters, Annette Beauclerc and Bibiane Hubert.
