Chris A. Pristach

Chris A. Pristach, age 64 of Kankakee, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023, in Spooner, Wisconsin - the place that made him the happiest. He was born April 5, 1959, in Kankakee, the son of Andrew J. and Shirley J. (Kremer) Pristach. Chris married Jill S. Londergon on February 9, 1992, in Hinsdale, Illinois. Chris was an insurance agent for 40+ years and the owner of Pierce-Pristach- Lemenager Insurance Agency for over 30 years. He was the recipient of the Pekin Insurance Underwriter of Merit Award from 2019 through 2022. Chris was a graduate of St. Anne High School and Olivet Nazarene University. He was a member of the Hundred Club of Kankakee County, having served as president; Exchange Club of Kankakee; Knights of Columbus; Kankakee Valley Boat Club; Kankakee Country Club; Volunteer Paramedic Firefighter of St. Anne Fire Department; KGSSL Volunteer Coach (Kankakee Girls Summer Softball League). Chris enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, boating, giving his best Sopranos impression, listening to his Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin CDs on repeat, and building then sitting around a blazing fire. Chris could keep a room laughing, whether he intended to or not. All who knew him loved him for always being exactly who he was. Chris was a parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kankakee, serving as a Lector for 7:00am mass. Surviving is one son, Jacob Pristach of Kankakee; one daughter, Anna Pristach of Kankakee; one sister, Tina Pristach-Patrick of Tucson, AZ; one aunt, Elaine Kremer of Bourbonnais, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his much appreciated work family, Cindy Gagnon, Kathy Meli and Pat Gilmore. Chris is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Holle Tousignant; and his beloved family Springer Spaniel, Mia. Memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the 11:00 a.m. funeral mass on Friday, November 10, 2023, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Kankakee. Reverend John Peeters will celebrate the mass. A private inurnment will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Wichert. Memorials may be made to the Hundred Club of Kankakee County, an organization that supports the families of fallen policemen and firemen.
