Donald Kyrouac

Visitation for Donald "Spids" L. Kyrouac, 79, of Bradley, will be from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley. Burial will be in Maternity BVM Cemetery, Bourbonnais. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. He died Monday (May 7, 2012) at his home. Mr. Kyrouac was the retired owner/operator of LK Bottled Gas Inc., and recently was a courier for Alverno Labs. He was born Sept. 12, 1932, in Bourbonnais, the son of Leo and Gladys Chantome Kyrouac. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Bradley American Legion Post 766 and the Bradley VFW Post 6502. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge and St. Joseph Catholic Church, where he was an altar server. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved to golf, garden and bowl. Surviving are his wife, the former Theresa Raymond, whom he married Feb. 4, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bradley; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Greg and Nancy Kyrouac, of Ashland, Tom Kyrouac, of Bourbonnais, and Brian and Bonnie Kyrouac, of Bradley; three daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Kerry Kubick, of Lompoc, Calif., Debbie and Tom Arnold, of El Paso, Texas, and Susie and Steve Harms, of Kankakee; two stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Stephanie and Michael Murray, of Manteno, and Christine and Joe Cousin, of Bourbonnais; 12 grandchildren, Dyson, Seth and Candice O'Connor, Peter Kyrouac, Joseph (Kayla) Kyrouac, Lily (Dylan) Downs, Hope (Brett) Cherry, Kelly and Diane Kubick, Eric (Shannon) Rasmussen, and Riley and Abbey Kyrouac; eight stepgrandchildren, Caitlin, Zachary, Nicholas and Benjamin Murray, Lucas and Reece Cousin, A.J. (Allison) Cousin and Richard (Harley) Clark; one great-grandchild; two stepgreat-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Theresa and Fred Gifford, of Bourbonnais; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Richard and Pearl Kyrouac, of Terre Haute, Ind., Jim and Janice Kyrouac, of Bradley, and Armelia Kyrouac, of Bourbonnais; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by six stepchildren, Matthew Maitland, of Arizona, Danya Hilton, Lanora Noble, Denise Maitland, Dale Maitland and Leslie Franklin, all of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marion; one daughter, Diane Kyrouac; two sisters, Mary Louise Bertrand and Cecile Lobue; two brothers, Art and Paul Kyrouac; one stepson, Greg Maitland; and his loving dog, Mister.
