Duane James Maue

DUANE JAMES MAUE Died: August 18, 2018 Duane James Maue; age 78, of St. Anne, IL, passed away Saturday August 18, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. Born in Kankakee, IL to the late Donald M. and Mildred C. (nee Woodrich) Maue. Duane married the love of his life, Joy Arnold on Saturday August 18, 1962 in Orland Park, IL. Duane was raised in the Skunk Hollow area in Orland Park township. He and his wife, Joy, moved to Frankfort, IL shortly after getting married, where they raised their six children. He moved to his farm in St. Anne after retiring from Ford Motor Company where he ran his farming operation until his passing. Duane worked at the Ford Stamping Plant in Chicago Heights, IL for 37 years, from 1960 to 1997. Duane took a a great deal of pride in his trade as a journeyman Electrician, and his career at Ford Motor Company. Duane loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed taking his entire family with all the grandchildren on nice vacations every year. Duane was very active in the Boy Scouts with his four sons when they were growing up and he hosted Boy Scout camp outings on his farm in St. Anne for over 20 years. Duane enjoyed classic cars, particularly convertibles from the 1950’s and early 1960’s. He also enjoyed working on farm equipment and other machinery. Duane always had an active mind. He liked to learn and utilize new electronic technologies and "gadgets". He has hosted the annual St. Anne pumpkin fest drawdown fundraiser in his shop building in St. Anne for over a decade. Duane was known and respected for his honesty and directness. He had clear-minded conservative values, and he avidly followed current events. Surviving are his six children and ten grandchildren: Donald (Lyubov) Maue of Minooka and their daughter Jenna Joy; Darlene (Andy) Mela of Stonelake, WI, and their daughter Joylene; Duane (Kristy) Maue of Sugarland, TX, their daughter Joy, and son Dillon. Debbie Maue (Kevin Willoughby) of Chicago, IL. Dennis Maue, of Brimfield, IL, his son Logan, and daughter Maci. Darrin (Tara) Maue and their son Orrin, daughter Annalee, son Quinn, and son Kane. He is survived by his two sisters and their husbands: Janet (Byron) Homann of Columbus, IN and Willma (David) Dickson of Miami Lakes, FL He is survived by his Sisters-in-laws Joan Teeling of Billings, MT, Jill Arrigo of Oak Forest, IL, and Jackie Choisser of New Lenox, IL. Duane is also survived by his good friend Joe Mendoza, and many other close friends and family. Duane is preceded in death by his wife Joy Maue, and his parents Donald & Mildred Maue. Visitation: Date: Wednesday August 22nd, 4pm to 8pm at Clancy-Gernon-Houk Funeral Home in St. Anne A celebration of Duane's life will be held at the Maue family farm on Thursday August 23rd from 2pm to 5pm. Duane will be cremated, and his ashes spread on the family farm in St. Anne where his beloved wife Joy’s ashes were previously spread.
