Vivian Azzarelli

Vivian Azzarelli, 93, of Limestone, and Tampa, Fla., passed away Monday (Nov. 4, 2013) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Clancy-Gernon-Hertz Funeral Home, west Kankakee. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, Kankakee. Father Mario Quejadas will officiate. Burial will be in the Azzarelli Mausoleum at Mound Grove Gardens of Memory, Kankakee. Memorials may be made to the Limestone Township Fire Department, St. Martin of Tours Church, Kankakee, and Most Holy Redeemer Church in Tampa, Fla. She was born Aug. 11, 1920, in Bradley, the daughter of Harvey O. and Maude Topliff Saindon. Her husband, Bartle Azzarelli, whom she married April 14, 1940, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Kankakee, passed away Oct. 22, 2008. She was a founding member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church and a founding member of the Limestone Firebelles. She was also a member of Most Holy Redeemer Church. She enjoyed being with her family, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Surviving are three sons, Bart Azzarelli Jr., Bret Azzarelli and Trevor Price, both of Tampa, and Matthew Dalrymple, of Phoenix, Ariz.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra and Francis Girard, of Limestone, Norma and Robert Vaughn, of Bourbonnais, Carmella and John Woodaz, and Barbara and John Messina Jr., all of Tampa; 14 grandchildren, Dan and Laurie Girard, Kristina and Alan Jaenicke, Debbie and Craig Clement, Tom Coffman, Tammy and Steve Haslwanter, John and Anita Woodaz, Todd and Shannon Woodaz, Robert and Mercy Woodaz, B.J. and Cyndi Azzarelli, Gina McKendree, John III and Theresa Messina, Lori Wise, Diana Stead and Brian Vaughn; 33 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Marge and Roy Penley, of Murray, Ky.; five sisters-in-law, Jean Azzarelli, of Limestone, Barbara Azzarelli and Betty Azzarelli, both of Kankakee, Carol Azzarelli, of Trinity, Fla., and Anne Azzarelli, of Georgia; special friends, Luz Castro, Jeanne Regnier, Kenise List and Ethyl Englehardt; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Darlene; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph, Pete, Sam and John Azzarelli; Josphine and Frank Raspolich.
